The digital LED strips function by addressing the diodes, allowing each pixel to light up in a different colour. A pixel is the minimum LED quantity that a controller could command. This depends on the IC chip type. Strips with IC chip WS2812B have an inbuilt integrated circuit in each diode – one pixel is one diode. Strips with IC chip D7722 – one pixel is three diodes. The digital LED strips are widely used in advertising and decorative RGB lighting.
